GL Accounts

The ledger accounts are accessible via the menu Objects->GL Accounts:

The “GL Accounts” form is as follows:

A. Grid Navigator

In order, the navigator buttons are:

  1. First arrow: Move to the first row
  2. Previous arrow: Move to the previous row
  3. Next arrow: Move to the next row
  4. Last arrow: Move to the last row
  5. Check mark: Save changes in the row
  6. Undo (Cross): Revert changes of row
  7. Add (Plus): Add a row at the end of the grid
  8. Delete (Minus): Destroy the row.

B. Grid of data rows

To move around the grid, click the grid and move as in a spreadsheet. Watch for the last row, because when you press on the down arrow, a new row is added each time you press the key.

To change a code or name, just start typing in the appropriate field. For example, the name “Cash” is changed to “Bank”.

To accept the changes, move to another row or click the “Check mark” of the navigator. To reject the change, click on “Cancel (Cross)” before moving to another row.

To add a row go to the last row and click the “Down arrow” on the keyboard or click on the “Add(Plus)” button of the navigator.

Tips & Tricks

To avoid adding rows repeatedly, go to the last row using the navigator and click once on the down arrow key.

To delete an account, position the grid on the appropriate row and click the “Delete (Minus)” button.

To sort the accounts by code, for example if you have added new accounts, click on the header of the “Code” column.

C. Code search

To search for a code, enter the code or the beginning of the code in the general ledger code field, then click on the magnifying glass with a dot to find the code equal or greater than the code sought.

Tips & Tricks

To search for an approximate code, type the first characters. For example, to search for “60200”, enter “60”.

To continue searching, click on the magnifying glass with a plus.

D. Name Search

To search for a name enter the name or partial name in the Name field and click on the magnifying glass with a dot to find the name that contains what you need. For example, if you are looking for “lated pro”, the search will find the account “30600: Accumulated Profits,” which contains “lated pro”.
